Hirakatashi Station is a station of Keihan Electric Railway in Okahigashicho, Hirakata-shi, Osaka. All classification except the high speed limited express stops. The station number is KH21.
Existing Hirakata-Koen Station in the Osaka side of the Hirakata hotel gave Hirakata Station at the time of the opening of business of (1910) in 1910, and our station was Hirakata east exit Station.
It was renamed afterwards in (1949) in 1949 because our station became center Station of Hirakata-shi. At this chance there is the purpose to avoid confusion with former Hirakata Station and becomes Hirakatashi Station.
The history is the oldest now in "the ... city station" where Keihan Electric Railway is open. In addition, the first of "... city Station" in Keihan is new Keihan Line (Hankyu Kyoto Main Line) Takatsukishi Station before the company separation.
It is erupted during work to remove a fuse (1939) in the 15th 大阪陸軍兵器支廠禁野倉庫第 warehouse at 2:45 on the afternoon of March 1 in 1939 by a bullet body. A power transmission line, a train line, electricity supply equipment is destruction by the cannonball pieces which it is driven by a strong wind that has just started and a cannonball, a bursting charge catches fire and causes an explosion at 3:29, and a state not to be able to perform the fire fighting by the large explosion that a bullet and a piece are scattered continues for three days, and poured into a radius of 2km. The reopening of the station was delayed until 6th though I drove at 8:00 on the afternoon of the same month 4 and reopened.
Increase in number of the passengers getting on and off was seen after the Pacific War, and it increased to 29,344 people/day by approximately 60% in (1959) for 1,959 years in (1955) for 1,955 years to have been 18,383 people/day.
As for the next 1960-1970 years charges, the number of the passengers getting on and off increased rapidly by the housing land development including the Kaori housing complex. In addition, (consecutive grade separations business) was planned the high shelf of the station by the spread of cars and increase in train number because the issue of railroad crossing which was not open around the station came to the front.
The high shelf of the station starts construction of the business (1978) in December 1978; 1988 (1988) in May an up line (to Kyoto) high shelf. Katano Line becomes a single line high shelf (1991) (1990) successively the down line (to Osaka) in June 1991 in March 1990; in 1992 (1992) in November an amount of double track shelf. I continued supplementary work afterward, and the construction was completed (1993) a high shelf on March 25 in 1993.
In the Keihan train handicap stone derailment which occurred with popular name "beach Island curve" between our station and Goten-yama Station (1980) on the night of February 20 in 1980, I suffered from restoration until afternoon of 21st, the following day, and the shuttle service, the limited express were suspended than the first train until restoration between our Yodoyabashi Station - stations on 21st.
Transferring passengers to another means of transportation with the bus was performed during suspension between Kuzuha Station and our stations.
All limited express trains came to stop at our station the outbound limited express at the time of the rush again in the morning in (2003) in 2003 in (1997) in 1997, and convenience improved.
Furthermore, in our station, it was with the station where all periodical operating trains stopped at until 2016 of the regular service start of 洛楽 by a high speed limited express having been abolished in (2011) in 2011.
It was chosen at 100 selections of stations of the second Kinki on September 21, 2001.
The transfer guides from the main line to Katano Line called out time before with "Katano-shi, the Kisaichi area", but refer it to "Katano Line" after the summer of 2003. In addition, "please quit the coming visitor to station lacing braid at the time of arrival in the daytime at this station". I call.
